Devlog #3: Refocusing My Efforts for a Better Game Experience

Greetings, fellow gamers and followers of my game development journey. Today, I have an important update to share with you all. After much contemplation and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to refocus my efforts and simplify my vision for my game.

My initial goal was to create a game with multiple modes, including battle royale, MOBA, dueling, and team-based match-ups. However, as I continued development and playtesting, I discovered that my passion lies in the progression and mechanics found in the Souls-like, Monster Hunter, and Diablo genres which caused me to alter got hands and make the game more ambitious.

As a solo developer, I have come to realize that creating a character that players can use in a wide variety of game modes is not feasible within a reasonable timeframe. To better focus my efforts and create a more compelling game experience, I have decided to develop two game modes one at a time. In my next build, I will be focusing on either a cooperative wave-based multiplayer game or a competitive MOBA-style mode.

This shift in focus will require me to create a new and different lore for my game, but I am confident that this decision will lead to a more enjoyable and polished end product. Thank you for your understanding and support, and I cannot wait to share more updates with you all in the future.
I apologize for any disappointment or frustration that this change in direction may have caused, but I am confident that it will lead to a better game in the long run. I look forward to sharing my progress with you in the coming weeks and months and I hope that you will continue to support me in my development journey. Thank you for your understanding and I hope to see you soon in the game!

As I work towards this new direction, I will be refactoring my code to create a more robust and efficient system for characters, abilities, and progression. This will also allow me to make improvements to the AI, targetting system, and damage system. While this may cause a delay in my development timeline, I believe it will lead to a better overall experience for players.

I want to ensure that the player has a great experience and that the gameplay is fun and challenging. I am also taking steps to build a community around my game. i will eventually start a website with forums to provide a space for players to share their thoughts, ask questions, and connect with one another. I am eager to share more about my game development journey with you, and I hope you will follow along as I continue to build Got Hands into the game that I always envisioned it could be. Thank you for your support and I look forward to your feedback and input.
